A free composition, carried by a subtle, technically refined colour gradient. The design incorporates Robert Haussmann's colour theory and his experimental carpet work, in which he explored the sensual effect of materials and the expressive power of craftsmanship.
The comprehensive and multifaceted archive of Trix and Robert Haussmann – rich in previously unpublished sketches and designs – forms the basis of Ruckstuhl's COLLECTION TRIX & ROBERT HAUSSMANN. The collection was developed at the beginning of this year in close collaboration with Trix Haussmann in order to showcase the aesthetic principles and design intentions of the visionary duo in all their depth and originality.
Ruckstuhl combines this piece of Swiss design history with forward-looking material innovation: the TRIX & ROBERT HAUSSMANN COLLECTION is the world's first carpet collection whose top layer is made from 60% recycled wool – obtained from discarded garments (post-consumer material, such as high-quality winter coats).

Trix und Robert Haussmann
Trix (*1933) and Robert Haussmann (*1931; †2021) are among the most influential figures in Swiss architecture and design. With their Manierismo Critico – critical questioning of the familiar – they broke with design and architectural conventions through playful seriousness and subtle humour, leaving a lasting mark. Their work plays with perception, surprises and challenges the senses.
We have transferred these works to the new COLLECTION TRIX & ROBERT HAUSSMANN by Ruckstuhl in close collaboration with Trix Haussmann. The designs were personally curated by her to authentically preserve the design principles and creative depth of this visionary duo and bring them to life in a new way.
