The business card for the entrance area: the tried and tested, robust coconut rosette, available in several heights.
Since the company was founded in 1881, Ruckstuhl has been weaving carpets from coconut yarn, making it the only company in Switzerland to do so today. The fibres come from the protective sheath that surrounds the coconut. The machine-spun, long-staple yarn comes from Sri Lanka and is extremely hard-wearing. Other advantages of Porta are its good brushing effect, its ability to absorb moisture (about 15% of its own weight), its longevity and beautiful ageing. The tannic acid in the coconut fibre has a cleaning and disinfecting effect. Coconut fibre is a renewable raw material.
